There isn't a better way to describe Roughneck's Walk the Line (aka Johnny) than the song states. This handsome dog is most noticeable for his grace, speed and style. He's nearly robotic on point and when backing as he is ALWAYS eye popping and intense... nothing less than 110%. Johnny approaches his job with a "no fear" attitude. His motto seems to be, "when the going gets tough, the tough get going." Yet, he always checks back to make sure he's working as a team. Johnny may appear to be an independent soul when he's working but he's as sweet as a puppy in the house. When we bred
INT CH, VC Sharp Shooters Man in Black, MH to VC Odessey's Hustlin Kate we hoped to produce dogs with dedicated work ethics that also have cooperative and affectionate temperaments. We were not disappointed.
Johnny is owned by Tracey Nelson of Iowa. She can be contacted at quickpup25@dishmail.net. |

| One way to get a UT Breeder Award is to have all three dogs get a Prize I on the same day. It’s an awfully rare occurrence but that’s exactly what happened when these three dogs ran in UT in the summer of 2009. Pictured from left to right are: Clyde Vetter & Spring Valley’s Fade to Black (owned by Eric Dew), Sean Timmens & Spring Valley’s Justice 4 All, Paul Grover & Spring Valley’s Seek & Destroy. INT CH, VC Sharp Shooters Hot Rod, MH and INT CH, VC Willow Creek’s Mouthy One are the sire and dam. Sean Timmens and Linda Bennett of Mount Horeb, WI are the owners of Spring Valley Kennel and the breeders of this fine litter. http://springvalley-kennel.com/ | |

INT CH Scarecrow's Winooski River (NA Prize II, 95 pts; UT Prize I, 197 pts.) is a carbon copy of his sire, VC Sharp Shooters Hot Rod (Rev), and has inherited his father's hunting drive and laid- back disposition. This youngster really came into his own last fall, commanding the field with style to put fear into North Dakota pheasants! Montgomery takes on the marsh with gusto, and is developing into an all-round can-do guy, following in Rev's footsteps. With the grace of his dam, and the soulful, expressive eyes and impressive head of his sire, this dog looks good just standing still! Though rough and ready outdoors, Montgomery's sweet, calm and cooperative demeanor indoors makes him a valued addition to the family. You can contact his owners, Craig and Jana McLaughlin, at craig@scarecrowkennel.com. |

VC Lakeviews Laser Point Greta is an anomaly. As
much as she loves to chase a duck through a muddy, stinky duck slough, she loves
equally to curl up on the couch in her home she shares with Dr. Mark and Polly
Norman of Edina, MN. She’s a staunch dog in the field, on point and when
backing, and is as tough as they come when the conditions warrant it. Greta is a
daughter of VC Sharp Shooters Time Bomb, MH and a granddaughter of INT CH, VC
Shooting Starrs Sharp Shooter, MH. Mark and Polly’s email is

VC Hatten's Kia, owned by Bruce Thompson of Greensboro, GA, is a spitting image of her father INT CH VC Sharp Shooter's Prairie Dancer, MH. Clyde handled Kia to a UT Prize I, 204 points and a Versatile Champion title. Kia's as dependable as the day is long. She's nearly flawless in the field and rock solid in the water. Yet she has a mischeivious side that makes her a fun and lovable companion. |

Brie is the kind of dog people connect with almost
instantly. Her warm and affectionate personality pops out at you, as does her
animated spirit. When she cocks her head and gives you a look with her deep
brown eyes, you get a strong sense this fun and exciting little dog has a
definite mischievous side to her.
Yet when Brie is in the field, she’s all business. This quick-witted dog has achieved much at a very early age. She received maximum scores in Natural Ability and Utility on her first attempts at both and has four legs towards her Master Hunter title, all by one-and-a-half years. Natural talent came easily to Brie. She is a natural backer and retriever and while her search is expansive, her incredibly cooperative nature makes her a dream to walk behind. She covers the field with grace and speed and makes it all seem quite effortless. She has a passion to search for ducks in the marsh as well. Brie has proved she can withstand intense training at a young age, probably because of her high level of cooperativeness, yet still hunts with absolute exuberance. Brie spends her weekends hunting for pheasants with her owner Bill Fuchs of Iowa and her weeknights in the house with the family. | |
