Clyde says Cash is the dog he’s been looking for since he started in this business 15 years ago. It’s always a little scary to put those words in print because you never want to be humbled by your dog, but our faith in our “Man in Black” runs pretty deep. He’s the son of
INT CH VC Shooting Starrs Sharp Shooter, MH and
INT CH VC Sharp Shooters Funky Diva (daughter of
INT CH VC Sharp Shooters Prairie Dancer, MH).
The best way to describe Cash is “he’s Shooter on NOS.” Cash got his mother and grandfathers’ groundspeed and style. He is fast, flashy, hard-charging and stylish, not to mention quite the looker. He’s as cooperative as his father but yet strong-willed enough that he never questions his own abilities. Cash hits the water with gusto and has showed amazing focus and innate abilities at an exceptionally young age. He does his job with confidence and panache. He is truly a wonder to watch. Cash’ littermates are as consistent in their performance as he is. All seven puppies that tested in Natural Ability got a Prize I, six have tested in Utility with five getting Prize I’s and one getting a very high Prize III, four Prize I UT dogs ran in the 2007 Invitational and not only passed, but ALL received the maximum score of 200 points. A fifth littermate gained his VC title in 2009. With all that being said, Cash is just as happy playing with a ball, a bone, a rope toy, flies or whatever his latest fascination is in the house. He’s a love bug like his dad and has the mischievous nature of his mother. Cash’s puppies, while they are young yet, show tremendous potential as he’s already produced many Prize I Natural Ability and Utility dogs, and four Versatile Champions.
"Rev" has the spark needed to Rev up any hunting day. From three-weeks of age we knew he was special. First out of the box, first out of the bigger box, first to climb up and down stairs, first to retrieve, point, etc. etc. Just when you don't plan on keeping a puppy, Mother Nature throws you a once in a life-time opportunity and we just happened to be lucky enough to recognize it. We call him our summer Hot Rod and haven't regretted adding one more dog to the household yet. Rev has the special mix of being light-a-foot in the field, a marsh crashing maniac like his dad, Tango and a loving housedog like his mother, Tera. Rev’s puppies show his same level of focus and cooperation with the same strong work ethic their dad has. Versatile Champion; UT Prize I, 198 pts; NA Prize I, 110 pts Whelped 2/15/03 Height 24 in. Ticker’s energy is explosive, as his name indicates. He is a moderate to large ranging gun dog, but has the perfect blend of cooperation to make you feel like he’s always working as your teammate. In the yard, Ticker is a puppy at heart, but when it’s time to pursue game... he’s all business. His achievements are truly remarkable as every test he has run in has resulted in him receiving a Prize I Natural Ability at 12 months, Utility Preparatory at 14 months and Utility at 15 months; which mirror the scores of his father, Ty. At the 2002 NAVHDA Invitational, Ticker became a third generation Versatile Champion, along with his sister and brother.

My late father was a dog lover whose initials were APC. Albert Paul Casteleyn would be proud to have any dog named after him, let alone a dog of this caliber. When you first meet Al, it quickly becomes evident that his presence commands attention. His confidence and picturesque conformation puts him one notch above the rest, or so he thinks. Al’s talents are overabundant. When hunting behind this dog, you are awed by his tremendous speed and exuberance. There is no low-gear for Al, as it’s all or nothing. Although Al sometimes needs to re-huddle for a pep talk about what I like to call "teamwork," his overpowering prey drive makes him persevere when other dogs would have long before called it a day. He has proved to be my most dependable dog for bagging ruffed grouse. When most dogs would be caught off-guard with a flush, Al would instead be pointing from a great distance, partly due to his outstanding nose but mostly because he quickly developed an uncanny knack for handling these wily birds. As for waterfowl, all I can say is, "Ducks Beware!" "There never was a dog like Algonquin." ~ Dion Henderson

Shooter's balance of cooperation and desire made him an ideal dog to own. His instincts came to him naturally. Included with these talents, came a very trainable dog who maintained that training with little upkeep. Additionally he was a wonderful house companion. We called him our no bull#(*! hunting dog. At one year of age, Shooter completed his Natural Ability test with a Prize I. At two years, he completed his AKC Master Hunter title. Soon after he achieved a Prize I in Utility. His crowning achievement came at three years of age when Shooter passed the NAVHDA Invitational test with a maximum score to gain the title of Versatile Champion. Shooter was a fourth generation Utility dog and a third generation Master Hunter. It's evident that Shooter's progeny inherited his positive traits since he produced 17 NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeder Award litters, and sired six NAVHDA Utility Breeder Award litters. Fifteen of his offspring are Versatile Champions, and 45 are Utility dogs with nearly 70% of them obtaining a Prize. Ninety-seven are Natural Ability qualified, 61 with Prize I’s. There are more than a dozen AKC Master or Senior Hunters, one is a NSTRA champion and one has an obedience title. Shooter proved himself in everything he touched, from training and testing to the wonderful dogs he helped create. When his body didn’t let him hunt as hard and long as it used to, he still put forth 100%. His eyes lit up when he went on point and he would retrieve bumpers and birds all day long. We were truly blessed to have Shooter be a part of our kennel and our home. _________________________________________________

Little did we know when we chose Tango's name, how well it would suit him. His movements were not only quick and precise, but his impeccable conformation allowed him to move through a field with grace and style. He was an absolute joy to watch. Our intent when we matched Tango's parents was to produce dogs with intense points, medium to large range in the field with strong water love and sound conformation. The litter exceeded all of our aspirations as it became a Natural Ability and Utility Breeder Award litter. The pedigrees of the parents and their ancestors speak volumes about what these dogs have to offer. Tango's prey drive was his overriding asset. That, combined with an excellent nose, made for great days in the field and marsh. Tango's exuberance for life was infectious but yet he was a mild-mannered and affectionate house dog. His pups have inherited his spirit, drive and stellar looks.

Ty was destined to become one of our finest dogs. His balance of prey drive and eagerness to please was the exact mix we were looking to create with this breeding. Whether he was testing or hunting, Ty always demonstrated extreme style and intensity, but yet maintained his focus on the task at hand. His cooperative nature allowed him to be taught easily. His NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize I at 12 months, Utility Prize I at 15 months and Versatile Champion title at three years of age demonstrates that he was a quick study. Proven ancestry is a large part of Ty's success. His father, Shooter, is from a long line of NAVHDA Utility dogs and AKC Master Hunter's; in fact, Ty is the fifth generation of Utility dogs and fourth generation of Master Hunters. His mother, Tess, has proven to be an equal contributor as she too is a Versatile Champion and a Master Hunter. He is a true melding of his parent's best attributes. Ty and his littermates are part of a NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeder Award and a Utility Breeder Award litter. Ty's personality was truly unique as he was constantly in motion and was incredibly alert but yet made for a wonderful house companion. Additionally, his offspring show impeccable natural talent at young ages, much like their father did. Ty sired three Natural Ability Breeder Award litters and one Utility Breeder Award litter which had an average score of 204 points! All three Utility dogs from that litter became Versatile Champions at the 2002 Invitational. He sired a total of five Versatile Champions.
